Pink Neon pony party

My god daughter Lux turned four last week and with her mother in the third trimester of a twin pregnancy I decided to throw her a last minute surprise party.  The original plan was to take Lux and my girls our for a girlie day including a stop at the nail salon and a bakery for some cupcakes, however when the doctors put a halt on all activities it was decided to have a little party for her at home. After raiding my party supplies and my children's toy box, I created a rainbow, pink neon pony party.  What four year old girl would not love that?!  I was very pleased with the end result and I was so happy I could do something special for Lux! Happy birthday Lux!  Big love Felicity x

For the event I used pink neon wall dots and party hats, pink and yellow balloons and hung a felt wool garland.  I wanted to keep the setting minimal as I believe less is more!  For the place settings I used some rainbow striped paper plates, napkins, glass milk bottles with a duck blue paper straw and topped it all off with a neon party hat.  I decorated the table with my daughters ‘My little Ponies’.  I placed some miniature paper party hats on the ponies that I found last year at my favourite paper shop Pulp Creative Paper. I had no use for them at the time but knew they would come in handy for something! How right I was!  Lux’s mother organised the sweet ‘Lux’ cake from a local bakery.  I was very pleased that I was able to style a gorgeous party in an unfamiliar space.  I hope you like the sweet details as much as I do!

Big love and enjoy!

'Two Peas in a pod' twin boy baby shower

Two peas in a pod

It was an honour to host a twin baby shower for one of my best friends recently.  When Rebecca announced that she was having twins I was overwhelmed but very happy for her as she is an amazing and devoted Mother! To celebrate her twin boys I decided with the theme 'two peas in a pod'. I used a cute salt and pepper shaker as my inspiration for the decoration and for the cake topper.

For the event I handcrafted green dots for the walls to make a spotted theme.  I also purchased some paper green dot garlands as I thought they suited the pea theme beautifully.  The dessert table was set against a handcrafted cardboard cut out of two peas in a pod and I also hung some lettering to add to the design.  I used some green felt string and five green honeycomb balls to make some simple pea inspired bunting for the table.  I added pale green polka dot paper ware to add to the simple colour pallet and incorporate the wall polka dots.  I made my vanilla cupcakes and topped them with green confectionary sugar and flowers.  Even though the event was for a group of ladies I decided to once again make my vanilla fondant cookies as I thought why should the children get all the fun?!  With that I made cute ‘pea’ sugar cookies.  To add to the shower aspect of the table I added green and white blooms and served drinks in Ball glass jars tied with green and white string.

I am so happy with how the green and white looked in my home and once again loved making all the paper details and baked goods.  It was after this event and the continual prodding from my friends and family, that I decided to launch ‘Little Paper Plate Events’.  So if you or someone you know in Sydney is looking for a custom party I am your girl!

Big love and enjoy!

Confetti Fairy Party

Confetti Fairy Party

Before all things spooky my daughter Lauren loved building fairy houses in the garden.  With this I decided for her 5th birthday to create a unique fairy party for her.  For the decorations I used gorgeous fairy bunting (cut into single fairies) and cupcake toppers from Roberts Confectionary to set the theme.  I had previously seen a confetti inspired party online so I decided to incorporate that into the event for a different twist on the fairy theme.

The dessert table was set against a simple backdrop of handmade coloured cardboard cut and placed to look like someone had thrown confetti at the wall.  I covered a box in some cute confetti wrapping paper to add height to the table and to hold the drink containers.  I added confetti paper cups, plates, straws and gift bags to complete the design.  I made number ‘5’ and star fairy wand fondant biscuits, pink frosted vanilla cupcakes and pink and white marshmallows covered in sugar confetti.

Big love and enjoy!

Grey and Yellow Butterflies

Before unicorns the obsession was butterflies and when I came across some gorgeous paper in one of my favourite shops Pulp Creative, the deal was sealed.  This party was one of my first creative ventures, however I still love it even though I have come a long way since then!
For the event I handcrafted butterflies, cupcake toppers and paper chains from grey and yellow geometric paper.  I used grey and yellow chevron and striped paper party ware and some fabric to add to the design.  To add to the theme I purchased some sugar butterflies from eBay (sorry company name has escaped me) and some yellow macaroons for the desert table.
To add to the effect of the party I purchased some yellow butterfy wings for each child to wear at the party.

Big love and enjoy!
